A reflection that coalesced at a recent Called Work Dialogue at the Copper Kettle Tea Bar in Foley, Alabama…
The perspective we hold, where we start our thinking from,
determines the path we take, what we move toward and what we move away from…
and ultimately what we create… what we bring into the world.
Culture works. Our culture today, without our even being aware, works diligently to start our thinking from economics, legality and rights… taking us down a path of segmentalism and divisiveness… and as we are increasingly experiencing, often leading to anger, hate and violence. While “swimming in these cultural waters,” it takes discipline and fortitude to consciously and conscientiously choose where we start our thinking from.
The working of called work. As we begin to see and take up our own unique called work, manifesting the essence virtue embedded within, we find ourselves developing increasing ableness to advance to, and sustain a new start point for our thinking…
Advancing from economics to enfolded potential,
Advancing from legality to intentional ethicality,
Advancing from rights to human dignity…
…A shift calling for our always remembering the truth…
If all-inclusive love is not present in our process, all-inclusive love will not be present in the outcome.
…A shift that enables us to become a living seed for community moving towards love, peace and wholeness… a community moving towards living and working in ways that work for all children… all children in the world.
