Becoming an Instrument for the Intended Eternalizing of Life on and through Earth
Technology – technological man – can cause a particular future: but, in and of itself, cannot create the future – the intended unfolding, the realizing of our human potential, the eternalizing of life on this earth… an eternalizing of life in the here and unfolding now that calls for honoring and enabling the nourishing, life giving capacity of the life systems and processes of this earth… that which is critical to our ongoing living, and critical to all of life.
We, as living human beings, can join in the intended unfolding; we, through work and role, can fully participate… a participation and joining in that requires a wholistic seeing and understanding of intended ways of working and the intentional, purposeful employment of reason in pursuits that are increasingly harmonious and congruent with intent… the intended ways of working of our life, the whole of life on this earth. All of which enables, makes possible, our moving in the direction of bringing the world of our making into congruence with the world of intent… a world of wisdom… a world of wisdom and beauty.
Our world, the world of our making, is increasingly a product of science factism… a reductionist process that diminishes our beingness, diminishes our humanness, and disconnects us from life – from the intended, the totally interconnected, ways of working of life on this earth. All of which serves to move us away from, rather than towards, advancing our humanness. As beingness diminishes we naturally move towards increasingly coarser and coarser energies, seeking more and more artificial stimulations… which in turn habitually capture our attention, time and resources. Science factism, like other ideologies, has within it a level of attractiveness, a certain drawing power to particular concepts and ideals; but, as is common to ideologies, lacks wholeness, the necessary wholeness and completeness required for the work before us, and as such is not a real path, not a path of and towards congruence with intent.
Bringing the world of our making into congruence with the world of intent both requires and is initiated by the active, working presence of ethics – more specifically, intentional ethics. Congruence with intent, if it is to become practice-able – made real – will require the active working presence of intentional ethics, that which is right for humanity, good for the whole of life… that which enables a coalescing, a moving towards wholeness of conscience and heart – that which we innerly know to be right and good.
Creating the active, working presence of intentional ethics is complementary to, the kindred spirit of, creating the active presence of a work for all children in the world culture… a kindred spiritness that requires both a living philosophy that is whole enough and complete enough for the work before us, and a shift in starting perspective – shifting from human centered, to a life of the whole centered perspective. And too, central to both, is work… real work… meaningful, dignifying work. We, like all members, processes and systems of life, have purpose, role and work… work to sustain ourselves, to sustain our living, and to sustain the ongoingness of life – the whole of life, including human life – on earth… work required for realizing potential and our working in reciprocally nourishing ways… working in advancing humanness ways… working in ways that reflect congruence with intent and that which works for all children.
All of which brings us back to the necessity for seeing and understanding, and for the developing of our ableness with regard to that. Wholistic seeing and understanding is process; knowledge is structure. The rational mind, the reasoning mind of existence, can expand to add knowledge, manipulative knowledge; but it is not the mind of seeing and understanding intent and intended ways. Seeing and understanding is process, and comes from and through process – process not unlike that of intentional dialoguing. Seeing and understanding is accessible through process when we are actively present within and to the process.
Process is the domain of intuition, and at this time it is the intuition of wholeness that is being called upon; the intuition of wholeness being the developable means for accessing the wisdom of intent. Wisdom, being present to creation, understands intent and intended ways. This accessing and processing of and by the intuition of wholeness not only serves to make visible the path of original intent; but also, through the intentional, purposeful employment of reason, this path of original intent, this becoming path of advancing our humanness, becomes possible and practice-able… unfolding before us in truly human ways – intentional ways of living and working.
And now we bring this writing to a close with images of our unfolding story… a story of our becoming an intentional people… a truly fruitful people of earth, people who are living and working in life nourishing ways… a people breathing vitality and viability into the struggling and dying earth. Thus our story becomes more and more a story of truth… a story of a people who themselves were saved from death… saved from lasting death through a process of being returned to life, reconnected to life – to the Source of life and to the whole of life… a people who seek to fully and ongoingly embrace the truth of our livingness, our intended membership in the community of life… a people who, through the exercise of conscious choice – that uniquely human capacity – turned away from gaining manipulative knowledge, turned away from seeking to bend the future towards desires of existence… and willfully turned hearts and minds towards ways of harmony and congruence with intended ways of working of life on this earth; and towards pursuits that work for all children in the world… ways and pursuits made visible and actionable through a life of the whole perspective of the works and the word.
