Virtue and Wholeness – A New Starting Point

For years, our work has aimed at making visible a pathway towards our becoming more fully and truly human, and towards seeing ways of bringing meaningful and lasting solutions to issues such as divisiveness, development and ecology. From very early on, the necessity to call upon intuition and conscience became clear, intuition being that which we call upon to experience and “see” virtue and to image wholeness, its right and good working and the systemic relatedness of its elements; and conscience meaning we could conscientiously act from and live out truths that were made visible and heartfelt.

Both intuition and conscience require the process of reflection… reflection, not in and of itself yielding wholeness and wisdom, but rather being an initiating and awakening process for intuition. Through the processing and development of the living philosophy of potential emerged the phrase, “Giving voice to intuition and courage to conscience,” a phrase that itself emerged from many people expressing their experience with words like, “Yes, now I see more clearly, more wholly, more truthfully, that which I have been intuiting.”

This initial insight, “voice to intuition and courage to conscience,” has not only sustained itself, but has become more deeply understood… a reality that continues to affect the nature of writings and dialogues that occur. As we read and reflect on what is written here, let us remind ourselves that just as reflection is the initiating process for awakening and accessing intuition, wholeness and imaging the virtuous working of the whole is the new starting point for developing planetary ethics… an understanding that for a growing number, is becoming intuitively obvious.
