Reflecting on “Now is the time of potential” being a necessary boundary for us to willfully cross, the old phrase, Time is of the essence, came to mind. A common meaning of that phrase is the notion of quick action: the patient is very ill – the doctor must operate; the baby is on the way – must get to the hospital; the river is rising – must evacuate while we can; etc. It seems that the question relates to understanding the reality of the situation and the risk involved. No doubt we are at a critical juncture as a people of earth, a time of advancing humanness or regressing. It is also a time of little trust – little trust in political processes, in the integrity of institutions, etc. – and a time of little faith. We have asked what do we, what should we have faith in? For those that hold that “Seeing is believing,” there is much evidence casually and readily available. Yet with all this, we are left without the common tool of reason – without a convincing argument based on irrefutable logic. For this time of now requires the changing of heart and mind – opening hearts and developing minds, the minds needed for the work. We have said that we write from intuition, to intuition. Thus it seems that it is intuition that needs to wake up to the urgency of now.
The intuition of wholeness is much more effective and efficient than reasoning… once she sees the picture, the truth of it all, she has all she needs to go forth… no proof needed. So what is at work at this time: more and more of us are experiencing the need to move towards wholeness. Moving towards wholeness is not about taking a negative stand towards divisiveness, but rather lifting up the hope in potential, seeing the hopelessness of the path we are on, and stepping onto the path of intent, always remembering that it is not a path one can travel alone; it requires community. The need to make a real shift is intuitively obvious. The urgency – the need to go forth now, while the patient is still breathing – is innerly growing stronger by the day. The urgency of now, when fully embraced, commonly calls out “What do we do?” Which brings us to the reality of…
Ultimately, the perspective you hold – where you start your thinking from –
determines the path you take, the direction you move in –
what you move towards, what you move away from.
To change hearts, to open hearts to wisdom, starts with changing the starting point of our thinking. Perhaps the most critical first step in this shift is to accept there is no savior, no one person that we can put in a position of power and who can then act in a saving way, saving us from what we know in our hearts is the likely outcome of our current ways. In regards to earth, the savior role was filled long ago, it is still occupied; no vacancy there. America is a people-led country; the people develop the thought, and the processing of the thought creates the void into which leaders can move. The reality, at this time, is thought starting from a problem perspective has no resolving power… so forget that. Which brings us back to faith: In what do we put our faith? Do we put faith in the intent of the Source? Do we put faith in our smartness and cleverness? Which path is the most familiar… which is yet untried… which does intuition see the most hope in… which brings real meaning and significance to the here and unfolding now… which does not cause us to separate our way of working/doing business from our hereafter professions of faith… which takes us towards bringing the world of our making into congruence with the world of intent? Critical questions with intuitively obvious answers… questions and answers that create sufficiently whole images that – given today’s reality, the truth of the situation – naturally create a sense of urgency within… the urgency of NOW.
