Becoming a Vessel for the All-inclusive Love of the Source entering into the Working of the World
On a quiet contemplative evening, a woman, a grandmother to many, reflects on a question from her son… Did she, during her long life, experience any surprises? He watched in silence as she sifted backwardly through her life and as she reflectively formed a response… No… No surprises… Oh, yes, there was one surprise… I have been surprised as to how fast life has gone by. Her son then asked… How about regrets – any regrets? Again a period of silence… more reflective processing, a thoughtful, more considered response… No, not really… No real regrets. A response that brought an end to the questioning and an apparent shift, a deliberate shift, to the shared inner processing that was taking place… a shift in focus… moving away from herself, away from her life… and towards the children… not just her children’s children, but all the children. Before her voice entered the silence, he could see in her eyes, in the expression on her face, that what she was about to say was deeply held. She spoke in a familiar, but infrequently used tone… a tone reserved for the serious, the serious truth, the truthfulness of what she was saying… she was saying, I worry about the children… a worry that emanated from what her heart and mind saw within our current ways and current culture. All of which – the look in her eyes, the expression on her face, the words she spoke, and the tone that enshrouded them – created within her son a depth of feeling that is still readily accessible, ever deepening, today.
And now, through the seeing, imaging and understanding brought forth through intentional dialoguing, the necessity for intentional grandmothering has come to the fore… has been made clear… intentional grandmothering being a role, an initiating role, a process role… not a person, not a position, not a job. A role organized, not by expertise, but rather by intentional wisdom. The role required for taking up the work of creating the active, living presence of a work for all children in the world culture… the necessary work now before us; for it is culture – our ways, our culture – that ultimately determines who we are, why we are, and who we ourselves and our children will become.
And thus the mother’s worry about the children, a worry shared by many, can be acted upon… responded to in advancing humanness ways. Through intentional presence, the beingness of the role of intentional grandmothering, the necessary process of moving towards wholeness, away from that which divides – the intended unfolding of now – can and is commencing…
An intentional presence that evokes willful attention to purpose, the intentional purpose of our and life’s processes, systems and structures… willful attention to that which works for all children.
An intentional presence that brings conscience and wholistic understanding to the truth of our living nature… the truth, the inseparable reality, that a culture that works for all children in the world understands that the vitality of life, of the living processes of earth and the ongoing wellbeing of the children are one and the same… the oneness of Source, a oneness with the Source, the Source of life… a oneness of people, a people of and from life. A work for all children culture is a culture that is free of the illusion that the diminishment of the vitality of the life processes and systems of earth is both necessary and justified with regard to sustaining our life and to the pursuit of our happiness.
An intentional presence, a seeing and sharing of wholistic understanding… a clarity, a conviction with regard to the world of intent… a world of wisdom, a world of wisdom and beauty… a flourishing, nourishing, living world.
Yes, intentional grandmothering will lead – will lead through process – and reason will follow… reason will become intentionally and purposefully employed. The beingness of the grandmothering role, through the intuition of wholeness – accessing, seeing and understanding the working of intentional wisdom – will lead. Leading will unfold from and through process – particularly engaging in processes of intentional reading, intentional writing, intentional dialoguing and prayerful questioning… processes that open the heart to the mother’s command of Work for all my children, all the children in the world… processes that develop the mind – the wholistic seeing and understanding required – for creating the active presence of a work for all children in the world culture. And, yes, intentional wisdom will begin to guide reason… guiding in ways such that what is brought forth into existence is increasingly congruent with intent… intended ways of working of life on this earth. Always remembering, of course, that if love is not present in the process, love will not be present in the outcomes… and it is the unconditioned love – the essence of the Source – that makes all things possible.
