The Initiating Process Role of Now: Intentional Grandmothering

These writings on the initiating process role of now are reflections that were organized by and have emerged from a recent kitchen table gathering – an intentional dialogue – regarding the children’s reality here and in the unfolding now… a gathering of those with serious intent with regard to the work of now… people willfully seeking to open the heart – to transcend, go beyond, innerly held boundaries… people willfully seeking to develop the mind – to generate within the seeing and understanding – for taking up the work, the real work before us.  Real work, intentional work, is taken up, carried out through roles… the taking on of particular roles, roles having the character required for the particular work at hand… roles not so much about doing as they are about presence – a presence that emerges from willfulness and beingness.

The way of intentional dialoguing is a disciplined way, a way of managing self away from argument while simultaneously being open to the natural struggle that occurs as we experience the incongruence of that which we currently, innerly hold – hang onto, so to speak – with the emerging seeing of intent and intended ways of working.  The promise and experience of this processing is that we not only see that which was not visible before, but we also increase our ableness to truly embrace – hold within – essential truths… truths essential to intended ways, to our becoming, to our moving in the direction of advancing our humanness… truths essential to our becoming more fully and truly human.

In previous reflective processing we had gained clarity with regard to the working of philosophy, the nature of philosophy required for this time of now; and a fair bit of understanding of the living philosophy of potential.  And, along with this, we had come to see and understand what is the work before us:

Moving towards wholeness, away from that which divides.

Bringing the world of our making into congruence with the world of intent, intended ways.

Taking up pursuits that work for all children, all children in the world… and in particular, the creating of an active presence of a “work for all children in the world” culture… culture being the instrument and process by which we – as living human beings – advance our humanness.

And so, with a life of the whole perspective, a grasp of the work of philosophy, access to and understanding of the living philosophy of potential – the nature of philosophy now required – and clarity with regard to the work before us; the table was set, properly set for the emergence of role… the particular role, for the particular work of now.  Joyfully, as the title of this book indicates, the role – intentional grandmothering – emerged; one cannot recall a more welcome guest at the kitchen table.  This role, intentional grandmothering, brought coalescence to that which, through the intuition of wholeness, had been seen and understood… a coalescence out from which emerged a seeing of a way to go forward, to truly take up the work… to take on a role, to go into community… making real the path of our becoming an intentional people of earth.

Grandmotherly love organizes itself around the wellbeing of the children.  Through intentional grandmothering, we can see the encompassing of the natural bias towards our own – our own family, our own community – and a large enough “lap” – a heart that can become truly open to all children in the world… a heart and mind that through the intuition of wholeness sees and understands that at this time the wellbeing of my own is inseparable from the wellbeing of all – all the children… the life and living of some is interwoven within the life and living of all… all of the children, the whole of life itself.  And too, we can see within intentional grandmothering the willful presence of that which encompasses both the mother’s command:

Work for all my children, all my children in the world,

And:

The Father’s commandment of eternal life… Eternalizing life on and through this living earth…

The coming of the kingdom; Thy will being done… on this earth (Jn12:50, Mt6:10).

All of which is only possible through the accessing and entering of the all-inclusive love that Christ – through completing his work – brought into, made accessible to earthly life… the nature of love required for the unfolding work of now… for the particular work, for the particular becoming within and among ourselves.

The going forward process is a process of will.  It takes a lot of will on our part to truly open our hearts and develop the understanding required for the nature of conviction and courage the work calls for.  Role clarity makes possible the taking up of the work.  In the absence of role, we are reduced to doing… doing in which both beingness and willfulness are absent.  It is through beingness and willfulness that love enters the process, thus the necessity for role clarity.  Taking on the role of intentional grandmothering requires our developing an essence-based understanding – an intuitive seeing – of what is at work, how we work, and where are we really – both currently and where is this path of the world of our making truly taking us… us and our children.

We have come to see intentional grandmothering as the initiating process role for taking up the work before us, the instrumental role through which the all-inclusive love Christ made accessible can truly enter into the working of our world… the living earth, our home, the home of all… the place where Thy will is intended to be done… as it is in heaven (Mt6:10).
