The aim of the living philosophy of potential is to enable our “moving towards wholeness, away from that which divides”… movement increasingly recognized as being absolutely necessary. Critical to our ableness to move towards wholeness is our developing an understanding of essence, and the developing of our capacity for the compassion of caring about – the compassion of equality, of each of us at essence being equal. It is through essence and the compassion of caring about that synthesis – synthesis for wholeness – becomes possible.
Enabling this aim is the working purpose of the living philosophy of potential:
…Making visible the path of our potential by taking things to essence from the life of the whole perspective…
…in a way that we can see and understand the intention and intended ways of working…
…such that the synthesis for wholeness – the wholeness of intent – can be brought about through intuitive, reflective processing.
In particular at this time of potential, a time of great faith – a time to be more intentional about our purposes, more wholistic in our approaches – we find that both the word and the works are the “things” to be taken to essence from the life of the whole perspective… always remembering that community is the smallest whole within which intention can be unfolded – communities organized around particular work, intentional purposes, and life of the whole aims.
In previously published Desert Series books, particularly in Work for All Children, the essence of the works from the life of the whole perspective has been addressed. In this book, At this Time of Potential, we are beginning to address taking the word to essence from the life of the whole perspective. It is the hope that through reflection and reflective dialogue on these beginnings, each and all will see more clearly their called work in the community on the path of moving towards intended wholeness – towards the wholeness of humanity in working to harmonize with the intentional life processes of the ongoing unfolding creation.
