Jesus’ way, his preaching process, was one of praying, healing and teaching.
Jesus prayed – to understand (and acknowledge, appreciate and accept) the intentionality of the Father… an intentionality that, lived out in community, leads to healing – to wholeness. Understanding that we each have a purpose, a calling – a personal mission – we realize our work is to repent – to change our minds, our ways of thinking… to shift to the Creator’s way of “thinking” – a way of thinking from essence and life of the whole… radically change from our elemental, human-centered, existence-focused way of thinking. Our work is to believe – to have faith that the Spirit will provide what we need so that we can answer “Yes,” consciously and conscientiously choose “Yes”… and from the “Yes,” go forward doing the work of our calling… participate fully in the intended work and way of working. Repenting and believing, we are preparing to become instruments of the Creator’s love: repenting – changing our philosophy of life to the living philosophy of potential, the philosophy of living from and for intentionality -, and believing – having faith the Creator will give us everything we need as we answer “Yes.”
Praying, healing, teaching:
Praying for guidance… for “seeing” intentionality and the courage to answer “Yes.”
Healing – repent and believe, opening ourselves to love (the Spirit) entering such that we might take our part in the work of becoming whole.
Teaching – awakening each and all to truth and love… the truth of intentionality and the love of the Creator… and the truth of our intended instrumentality.
Without teaching, Jesus’ work would have become a story – albeit a good story – of a man with powers. His teaching (“Listen to him.”) is what draws us to “seeing”… to seeing the whole, and seeing our part in the whole.
And so, studying the Gospels participates in the teaching… the teaching through which the Creator might open hearts and minds to the truth of intentionality, and perhaps then choose to walk the path through the narrow gate… the path of intentionality, the path calling for instrumentality… a path which is all about and only about love… about love entering and “Thy kingdom come on earth as in heaven.”
