I have long come to see – through the understanding of others, and my personal experience and contemplation – that we go to the mountain to build the mind, and we go to the ocean to soothe the soul. Now, after some time of inner experiencing of reflection and contemplation, I have begun to see the intended way of working of the desert as being that of “shattering stone”: The shattering of stone that surrounds the heart, the stone that keeps love from entering, the stone that keeps us as we are, the stone that works to prevent us from being open to a true shift of the heart, the whole of the heart… a true embracing of the process of metanoia. Metanoia not in the sense of thinking a new way about some particular aspect of ourselves – an area of improvement or personal development – but rather in a wholistic way… a way involving the whole of the heart …a way of turning the heart away from any delusion that we are the source… a way of turning the heart, of opening it to fully embracing the truth of there being a Source – a Source of each and all, of the whole of everything… of our being instruments to the unfolding intent of the Source… of our trusting this truth, of our surrendering our will to the will of this truth… as intended… as that which becomes visible, truly embraceable, to the heart – the heart whose stone has been shattered.

+ The ocean is about the soul – go to the ocean to soothe the soul.
+ The desert is about the heart – go into the desert to shatter the stone surrounding the heart.
+ Life – the essence of life – is about spirit, the manifesting of spirit.
+ Love in the process – the compassion of equality – is about building the soul of humanity… through moving towards wholeness away from that which divides… in a way that works for all children… such that we can advance our humanness, the depth of humanness required of the needed instrumentality demanded by the emerging unfolding.
