Intuitively we are experiencing and living in a time that calls for both accessing wisdom and caring about. Given the depth and significance of problems facing humanity and earth today, we require guidance by higher truths than the truths that our reasoning, with all of its powers, can generate by itself. In a real sense, therefore, the development and ultimate expression of human potential must open itself to receiving the energy and guidance of the creative force at work – the guidance of higher wisdom.
Caring about is the nature of love required of each and all members of humanity. The effort we must put forth and roles we must take on within humanity today are at the level of systems; when we care about, we see self as an interrelated, interconnected element or instrument within a system serving a larger purpose. Caring about is an added capacity to the caring for and the kindness to we also work to incorporate into our humanness. Caring about is love manifested systemically between roles, therefore bringing forth the equality of all roles within a system.
To access higher wisdom and to live with caring about each and all, we shift from our human-centered way of thinking to a life of the whole-centered way of thinking. We find we must “look up” for guidance as we work to actualize self and to act wisely so that our development is aimed at achieving higher order ends that are good and right for the whole as well as for each and all of its parts. We can get a slight sense or perspective of this life of the whole-centered philosophy if we reflect on some of the principles that have been effective in community repotentialization work (for example, community is the smallest whole; come from the heart; take all issues to essence; seek wholistic approaches rather than partial solutions; pursue that which vitalizes all). It is also apparent that this shift from a human-centered to a life of the whole-centered way of thinking requires that we work to become fully human – to fully realize our human potential. An expression that captures this sense is “Living out the intent and intended ways of the Creator”… whether we know the Creator as a being or as an Ultimate Source.
As we reflect on what has and needs to occur in this time of accessing higher wisdom and caring about the whole of life, we can appreciate the implications to anyone or to any entity that desires to participate in or contribute to the bringing about and realization of this new level of humanity. One implication is the need to become instruments for the work and working of the creative force that is entering or trying to enter into the life processes of earth – particularly the human life processes. To become instruments requires we turn away from the notion that we are the source, and from thinking of ourselves hierarchically or positionally, and instead, take on roles of equality sourced in one Common Creator. As with all roles, there is a requirement to come from and bring to the process the gifts of our uniqueness and essence; in other words, to listen for and answer the call to manifest the unique essence virtue intentionally embedded within us as we entered life.
It is critical to remember that all roles have an upward looking character to them; that is, each is attentive to and strives to co-operate with the higher truths that are both operating and trying to become operational. Through the right working of this process, the need for philosophy and disciplined work emerges. Roles themselves are essential and critical, but neither a role nor the entity that occupies a role can be central; what become central are the life-giving systems and the life-generating processes of earth. Earth is in an ongoing process of being created. Earth must, as a creation, sustain its capacity to enable the life force to bring into being its evolutionary structures – one of which is humankind. Individually and collectively, we are being called upon to bring forth and exercise the potential that lies within the intentionally created living human spiritual being. This comes with the requirement that the unfolding of our livingness, our humanness, our spiritual beingness itself be guided by the intent of the Source; it is not our own wish or will, but the wish and will of the Creator… thus, the need for us to “look up” for guidance in our living processes. In this sense, what we tune into is every bit as important as the “intuitive antenna” itself.
Being aware of living in the time of accessing higher wisdom and caring about life of the whole is an elevating source of hope. We begin to see the potential and the possibilities that are contained within each and all. On the one hand, we experience the excitement of this new way and its accompanying enrichment to all life; on the other hand, we grasp the degree and significance of this dynamic shift and the immensity of its impact and effect on individuals, organizations, communities and on the associated processes, systems and structures. At a time when we are aware of the escalation of coarse energies and mechanicalness within our society, and are witnessing the effect of “economics over all” spreading beyond our businesses and industries to our other societal core processes (for example, educating and parenting), we see that what is coming into existence provides a rich supportive context for any and all work to repotentialize our communities and all essential life and work processes.
