A Come from the Heart Reflection on Being called Friend
Jesus, speaking to the Jews having believed in him: If you continue in the Word, you are my disciples. And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. JN8:31
The Jews answered, “To one, the father Abraham, we have been enslaved.”
Jesus, Truly, truly I say to you that everyone practicing sin, the slave of sin is… and that slave not abides in the house to the age; the son abides to the age. Therefore, if the son sets you free, truly free you are.
So much held within these words, one can only begin…
First, let us remember that previously Jesus read from scripture, re-rolled the scroll, and declared all the prophets and commands are fulfilled in this reading… close the book on the Old Testament; close the book on serving Abraham, a man… doing as you are told; as such, you are a slave.
I am the Word… I speak and teach only what the Father, the One come-from-above Father has given me. I give you come from above truth. With such truth, with this truth, you have within you, the ableness to make free will conscious conscientious choices… choices in harmony with the Father’s intent, the come from above Intentionality of the all – the whole of creation…
Continue in the word of me… I speak only come from above wisdom. If you live in that truth; I will call you friend.
What is the way, as Christ tells us, of being set free? By and through the Word. And what is the Word? – the gospel he gave us… only the gospel he gave us…
The gospel being the pattern of the process embedded within the whole of the story… the process, the teachings of his time on this earth… Christ’s process, pattern and teachings. Seeing such, calls for our suspending our reasoned interpretations of the gospel of Christ. Seeing the process of Christ calls for our shifting our perspective from “man is a sinner” to “sinning comes when we are not living in harmony with intended ways of working of life and love emanating from the one Source… when we are slaves to the culture of existence.” We were not born/created sinners… we have yet to answer yes to being authentically human… ongoingly yessing the I AM process of Christ and the Father’s everlasting life on this earth command.
Repeatedly Christ said, I do only what the Father has given me – not the father Abraham, but the one Source/Father/God of all. He might have said, I AM the first authentic human being ongoingly yessing the Father’s everlasting life on this earth command. The father, Abraham, gave you laws to follow. You are slaves to them; you are more worried about what goes into the mouth than what comes out of the mouth… obeying man’s laws. Now I am showing you a way of truth… if you know truth, I will no longer call you slave; I will call you friend, not slave… if you follow me: Love one another as I have loved you.
To do so, calls for our – humankind – embracing the four Thou Shall Loves… the first two – Love God, Love thy neighbor – sum up all the prophets and commands of the previous age; and the second two that Christ gave to us – Love one another as I have loved you and Love your enemy. All the while fulfilling, being in harmony with life: yessing the Father’s everlasting life on this earth command.
For this I was born; for this I came into the world – to testify to the truth… to live the truth… (and) if you know the truth, the truth will set you free.
You are not born sinners; but you sin. You are slaves to the culture of existence, a culture grounded in greed, pursuing power, sustaining ignorance and being indifferent. As such, you are slaves. Follow me. I speak/teach/live only truth, come from above truth the Father has given me. I am leaving for you the full whole true authentic process pattern of living human spiritual beingness ongoingly yessing the Father’s everlasting life on this earth intent. Follow me; follow my way, my process and teachings… all-inclusive love in the process teachings; and I will send/ask the Father to send the Spirit of truth (of wisdom) that you need when you need it.
Life, the Life emanating from the Father, creates life on earth – an ongoing upwardly enfolding unfolding evolving process… calling for intentional wisdom that is relevant in the here and unfolding now, wisdom of wholeness. You too are called to be come-from-above, called work organized vessels for love (emanating from the one Source) entering life, ongoingly nourishing the life processes of the living earth and of humankind, one of earth’s intended members.
We can readily see – through reflection – this being shown to us in the parable of the lost son:
+ One son who wasted the resources of life his father gave to him… and repented… returning to ask only to be given what he needed to live.
+ His brother, being always obedient, in pursuit of the reward of owning all when the father died.
The father loved them both. One lost, then found; one faithful, always obedient. Yet, both remained slaves; slaves to existence. Neither really joined the father who loved all, not only these two children, but all life… the Father who wanted the children to exercise free will – to consciously conscientiously choose to love the living earth, all of life… to join in the Father’s work. That is the authentic child, authentic son/daughter of the one Source.
To do so, to join the Father, we, humankind, are intended to embrace the Word – the I AM process Christ embedded in the whole of the gospel he gave to us – by and through which we become able to access the Spirit of truth, the wisdom of truth, relevant in the here and unfolding now. And if we know this truth, live this truth with all-inclusive love in our process; the truth will set us free. He will call us friend and not slave. This was/is his “saving” gift… saving us from being slaves to the culture of existence, making possible our choosing to ongoingly answer yes to being vessels for love entering life, nourishing the everlastingness of life… always remembering we are not the source of love, nor the source of life. We are intended instruments. We have yet to become friend. For, in today’s world, unless we embrace the truth we were given by Christ, the truth of our work and role in the everlastingness of living earth, and of humankind, earth’s intended and essential member, we will not be called friend. Knowing/living/being the truth of the Christ process and teaching way will set us free.
Now, a time of great hazard, is the time for exercising free will conscious conscientious choice, for creating virtue sourced value adding processes, and creating cultures that work for all my children in the world.
