At this time, on this earth, there are issues facing humankind and life itself. Issues – serious threats – with regard to the ongoing development and evolution of our humanness… threats to our humanness, and to the ongoingness, the upward enfolding, unfolding, evolving, eternalizing of life on and through the earth. Issues that demand a willful response on our part. A response grounded in truth, essential truths, a seeing and understanding of intentional ways of working of life and love on this earth. A response that is open to, receptive to love – the compassion of equality – being actively present within our processes. Open to love, and restrained by ethics… ethical – right and good ways… ways that are right for the one, good for the whole… reciprocally nourishing ways that are right for humankind, good for the whole of life… ways that recognize the truth of our humanness, and our livingness. A willful response that coalesces with the creation, development, and implementation of virtue sourced, potential realizing, ethically – right and good – working, value adding processes. Virtue sourced value adding processes are those that embrace the whole of the truth of our living human spiritual beingness; and are manifestations of the essential why – the intentionality – behind our entering into and through the life processes of earth. Willfully responding in ways that create real hope… hope for each, hope for all. Willful responding that requires the development of our inherent capacity for free will conscious conscientious choice… the developing and exercising of free will conscious conscientious choice.
Actively present on this earth at this time are two issues that are awakening us to essential truths… awakening us in personal and real – undeniable ways. Currently, given the absence of willfulness, compassion, understanding and ethics, and given the active presence of divisiveness, these truths are argue-able… but ultimately not deniable. The truth shall prevail. The real uncertainty lies within choice… the choices we make… whether or not we will develop and exercise our capacity for free will conscious conscientious choice. These issues being COVID – 19 and global warming.
COVID-19… Through its active presence and non-discriminatory way of working, COVID-19 has made visible, in an intuitively obvious, experientially validate-able way, the truth of our oneness… the truth of the oneness of our humanity, our shared humanness. A truth neither diminished, nor eliminated, by any particular effort, nor all efforts, aimed at segmentation, separation, or divisiveness.
Global Warming… In a similar way, the symptomatic manifestation of systemic issues lifted up by global warming has made visible, experience-able and very real, the truth of our livingness. The truth of our being systemically woven within the whole of life. Not separate from, nor separate-able from life. Regardless of our self-centered desires, we are inseparably woven within the processes of life. When our actions diminish the vitality of the life processes of earth, when they interfere with the intended systemic working of life’s systems, we are inevitably diminishing our vitality, our future vitality and viability… diminishing the vitality and viability of our children’s future… all of our, all of earth’s children’s future. From this truth, there is no escape, no away; but rather choice-full embracing of. This truth is at the essence of the cry of the children… whose purposeful work is to make life whole, make life real. A cry emanating from the hopelessness they innerly experience and see within and along our current path… within our choices and our cultural patterns.
The previous seeing and the writing that follows are organized by the living philosophy of potential. The living philosophy of potential is a come from above, from essence, work organized philosophy which focuses on the here and unfolding now. One that seeks the wisdom, the seeing and understanding of intentionality – intended ways of life and love, intended ways of our living and working on this earth. Seeking the wisdom and understanding necessary to organize ourselves in ways that reflect the truth of our livingness… ways in which our patterns are mirror images of and in harmony with the intended ways of working of life, of love, on this earth.
+ Life organizes itself wholistically, works systemically, and emerges and sustains its ongoingness, its upward evolution, through process. Love is the name we give to that which creates and sustains wholeness… wholeness within life, wholeness within ourselves as creatures of life. Systems work to sustain the potential realizing capacity of processes. Life maximizes possibilities, and seeks to realize the potential within each and all. Thus the diversity we experience, and the creation of systems to sustain potential realizing capacity… potential which itself is systemically – through work and role – realized. Life’s processes are neither linear nor hierarchical; but rather cyclical in nature, and systemic in their way of working… cyclical, systemic, regenerative, and negentropic – run up – in nature and ways. And within its homeostasis – steady state – and negentropic ways, are patterns of reciprocal nourishment and characteristics of open systems… that which is essential to run up, to the eternalizing of its presence on and through earth. Much of which, perhaps all, in one sort of way, are actively present within “The buffalo eats the grass; the grass eats the buffalo” cycle of life.
+ Within humankind, culture/cultures are the systems we create to enable intentional patterns and processes. If our cultures are to reflect the intended ways of working of life, of ourselves, they too are organized in ways that enable the manifesting of diversity – uniquenesses – and the realization of the potential, the systemic realization of the potential of each and all. They are cultures that are open to and vessels for love entering the process, sources of the compassion of equality. Cultures that in intent and in practice, “work for all my children in the world.” And thus, they have common aim: work in ways that enable the realization of the potential inherently present within each and all. They share a common aim, but their ways are rich in diversity… being ways that reflect the virtue of the land, the life energy field within which we live, honor and seek to harmonize with. And too, they are cultures that enable our authenticity – our being fully, truly, wholly human – and enable our being and becoming an intentional people of earth.
Central to understanding the intended ways of working of life and love, is an understanding of how we work… that being:
+ The perspective we hold, where we start our thinking from, determines the path we take, what we move towards, what we move away from; and ultimately what we create… bring into existence.
Present within the living philosophy of potential, essential to its organizing, is an intentionally led life of the whole perspective… a perspective that embraces the truth of our livingness, the truth of our humanness, and the truth of our spiritual beingness in the context of the whole, the living whole within which we exist… the living earth upon which we live and work. All of which reflects the intentionality behind the whole of all… out from which emerges earth’s and our essential why:
+ There is an intentionality, a will force, behind the whole of all… out from which emerges life and love… a yin/yangness complementarity of life and love. A complementarity whereby the essence of each is actively present within the other… present in a way that both creates wholeness and embraces the truth of oneness… oneness of Source. An intentional complementarity out from which emerges earth – earth as a manifestation of the life force – and from the life force, through earth, emerge the processes of life… that which looks to love for wholeness and making all things possible.
+ The essential why of earth is its being created to have a place for life to enter into the working of the all. And we, humankind, like all of life’s creatures, enter into the life processes of earth with particular work and role… work and role essential to the ongoingness, eternalizing of life on and through the earth. A yet to be realized potential… a realization requiring an authentic yes, free will conscious conscientious choice, on our part… as a person, as a community, as a people of earth. Our essential why lies within our participation in the ongoingness, the eternalizing of life on and through the earth… lies within participation, and manifested through work and role… work and role unique to our being created as living human spiritual beings.
+ Our work and role… The essence, the particular uniqueness, of the work and role of humankind lies within our intended instrumentality and our vesselness. Our intended to be a life nourishing, systemic enabling, instrument of the intentionality behind the whole of all. And the intent of our being a vessel for love, the all-inclusive love of the Source, to enter into the working of life… a vessel for the love that creates and sustains wholeness… within life, within ourselves, our communities, our human community. Through further reflective processing we have come to see and understand…
– Our instrumentality is organized by willfulness. Organized by the inner experience of drawing intentionality – the will force – behind the whole of all, into and through ourselves… individually, systemically, as a community. And our willfulness is manifested within life through spirit manifesting work. Work being both that which initiates willfulness, and its ultimate manifestation.
– Vesselness is the particular nature of beingness that the inner organizing of the compassion of equality creates within… creates within us as a product of the interaction between two or more. Beingness, generally speaking, is the inner organizing within ourselves that emerges from interaction… interaction with a person, a thing, a process, a situation…
– Our instrumentality and vesselness are wholistically expressed as the intentional willful beingness that the work, the reconciling work of now, calls for.
Looking then, at the purposeful work of science… the science behind the engineering, and the technology… that which orders and organizes what we create, what we bring into existence… Whereas we look to intuition, the intuition of wholeness, to, through reflective processing, access wisdom – the wisdom of intent – and within that, the seeing and understanding of intended ways of working of life and love; we look to science to make visible the manifestation of intentional ways of working of life on this earth. Make visible such that the structures and structuring we create, bring into existence, are in harmony with life’s ways… in harmony with, reciprocally nourishing of, and enabling of life’s systemic working. Within that, we come to see science as essential to our aim of being authentic, intentionally authentic in our ways of living and working on this earth. Thus, through the come from above, making visible intended ways of working of life and love on this earth that the intuition of wholeness and reflective processing provide; and through science – a favored instrument of reason, reasoning – making visible the earthly manifestations of life, its ways of working; it becomes possible for that which we create – bring into existence – to be a willful manifestation of the come from above intentionality… a realizable potential for our ways to be a mirror image of the intentional ways of the Source… the intent behind the whole of all.
Willfulness in and of itself demands discipline… an ongoing process of disciplining within our approaches… within our pursuits. It is the work of philosophy to create within – to organize heart and mind for the work – the discipline necessary, called for, by the work… the work now before us. The living philosophy of potential is a come from above ongoingly developing, seeking to be more complete, more whole in its understanding of intended ways philosophy… an essence based philosophy of and from life… a work organized here and unfolding now philosophy that is developing in ways that are whole enough and complete enough to allow and enable the addressing of the critical issues facing humankind and life on this earth in reconciling, resolving ways.
There lies within science a disciplined methodology, an objective intent that is realizable by explicit manifestation of intent and ways of testing, and experimenting, that enable verification through repetition and replication by others. Thus, a practice, a potential to be realized, in our intentional pursuits. And too, we can see the necessity for, and the active presence of science – its work and role – within the creation, development, and implementation of virtue sourced, potential realizing, ethically – right and good – working, value adding processes.
Looking more deeply within the cyclical processes, systems, and systemic elements of virtue sourced, potential realizing ethically – right and good – working value adding processes brings forth these elaborations:
+ Virtue sourced… All virtues are sourced in intentionality… the intentionality, the intent, present behind the whole of all… the intent, out from which emerges the intended ways of working of life and love on the earth… the living earth.
+ Potential realizing… To realize potential, we look to essence, essence patterns of intent. With essence as our ground, and realizing the potential inherently present as our aim, we seek to create processes within ourselves and within life that enable, bring into existence, manifestations of essence… manifesting essence through spirit manifesting work. There is no non-systemic realization of potential.
+ Ethically – right and good – working… Right and good – right for the one, good for the whole; right for humankind, good for the whole of life… right for life, therefore good for the whole of humankind. A reflection of our being inextricably woven within the systemic working oflife. Ethics, our being and working in ethical ways, are a systemic phenomenon. Whereas, we can be individually honest, ethics are systemic in their character. The particular ethical manifestations of the one, of an element within the system, reflect the intended way of working of the system… an ethicality required of each element to maintain the integrity of the system. Ethicality – right and good – ways of working are that which enable and organize the pattern of reciprocal nourishment within our processes… the reciprocal nourishment that is at the essence of our being value adding… value adding, as opposed to value extracting. Ultimately, value adding becomes, at essence, that which advances humanness; that which nourishes the ongoingness of life, and enables the intended unfolding of life on and through the earth. Virtue sourced value adding processes are our way of truly joining in the intended upward, enfolding, unfolding, evolving, eternalizing of life on and through the earth. That which we need to create to wholistically engage in our “pollinating” work.
Through intentional reflective processing, we have come to see and experience addressing the symptomatic issue of global warming in ways that move us away from structures and structuring that diminishes the vitality of life’s processes; and move us towards more intentional, essence based, harmonious ways. Ways that emerge from more wholistic and systemic seeing of processes. And a clear and deliberate shift in perspective… shifting from the common problem solving perspective to that of a potential realizing perspective. For example:
+ We came to see the essence virtue of petroleum as being the source of perpetual products… products that not only could be recycled, but also regenerated in carbon free ways… ways that would reduce the carbon emissions within particular segments of the process; and began to develop thought bases and orientation that included the whole of the value adding cycle… from initiation to recycle and regeneration. And seeing how it could become more life nourishing, more value adding, less entropic, less extractive in run down ways. The particular focus of this work was material – structures that were already in existence… seeking to realize the potential present within that, by looking to regeneration – the breaking down of the structure into its essential building blocks, thus enabling the creation of the same or different structures which, themselves, could ultimately be regenerated. Processes which have a proprietary character, but nevertheless demonstrate, in a practice-able way, the do-ability of such. What was clearly experienced within the process was that which is natural to shifts in perspective: the seeing and understanding of potential and possibilities that were neither present, nor accessible, coming from the previous perspective. And too, with the seeing of the essence virtue of petroleum as being the source of perpetual products; what also became equally clear is that combustion is a non-intentional use of petroleum and the collection of structures within it. A non-intentionality that manifests itself in the symptomatic disturbance of life’s systemic working. And also, through further reflection, one could see the regeneration of the existing petroleum sourced structures, the breaking down of the structures into essential elements required for re-entering into virtue sourced value adding processes; as following a similar pattern found in the regenerative – the biologically breaking down of naturally occurring structures process – for their re-entry into life’s processes. Recalling the aim for our existence related processes to have the character – pattern and ways of working – that both reflect and harmonize with the intended ways of working of life on this earth.
As we move more and more in the direction of virtue sourced value adding processes; we, like life, need to create systems that work to sustain and enable the potential realizing capacity of the process. The particular process that we aim to create, develop and implement being the virtue sourced, potential realizing, ethically – right and good – working, value adding process. And the system – culture – such a process requires is a culture that works for all my children in the world. Cultures that are led by the truth that each and all have inherently present, an essence, a gift, a potential to be realized… not surprising that we who emerge from the life force, through its life processes, would experience the maximizing possibilities, realizing the potential of each and all pattern of life. Living – neither fixed, nor closed – cultures that are open to ongoing development and evolution… and in particular are open to, are vessels for, love entering into the process. The love that both creates and sustains wholeness, wholeness essential to life, to ourselves as living human spiritual beings… and the love, through the compassion of equality, that reflects the truth of our oneness… one people, one earth, one Source… the love that reflects the truth of Source, and our embracing the truth of our not being the source of life, love, truth, or good… but rather instruments for, vessels for.
There is no sustaining of virtue sourced, potential realizing, ethically – right and good – working, value adding processes in the absence of a culture that works for all my children in the world… and too, there is no possibility of creating a living system – a culture – that works for all my children in the world, without the ongoing presence of a virtue sourced, potential realizing, ethically- right and good – working value adding process. Fortunately, they can and need to be developed in simultaneous complementary processes… processes that reflect the reality of “As we develop the work, the work develops us.” Through time, we have come to understand the significance of the inclusion of “my” as in, “all my children,” as that which reminds us of our oneness, of the realness of our shared origin within a common Source. Not only a shared origin, but a shared understanding of accountability and responsibility that emerges from the intentionality behind the whole of all… an intentionality expressed in the oneness of our human community. And, in a very real way, a reflection of our significance, one that requires the realization of the potential of each and all, with regard to the intended enfolding unfolding of life on this earth.
Before going further in our reflections, it may be helpful to pause and revisit how we work… how we as living human spiritual beings work. Holding in mind that the perspective we hold, where we start our thinking from, determines the path we take, what we move towards, what we move away from; and ultimately what we create… bring into existence. We realize potential present within our perspective through aim… and at this time through a shift in aim. We see this at work within science, the taking up of the purposeful work of science. The shift this calls for is shifting our aim from “mastery over” to “mastery of.” Shifting from mastery over the processes and systems of life, to mastery of the intended ways of working of life… including love, the love that brings wholeness to life, wholeness to ourselves. A shift in aim that in reality reflects the particular shift called for in many fields of endeavor… a shift in aim that reflects a shift from a human centered perspective to an intentional life of the whole perspective. Coming from above, from intent, we see aim as a manifestation of willfulness… willfulness with regard to being and becoming… being authentic, becoming intentional. And too, when it comes to organizing heart and mind for the work, it is helpful to remember that the living philosophy of potential is oriented to the here and unfolding now… seeing intended ways of working of life and love in the here and unfolding now… seeing our work and role in the context of the here and unfolding now. With that pause for reflection, reflective processing let us then turn to culture… its work and working.
To begin with, culture works! Works within us, on us… enabling, restraining, influencing our aims – essence based pursuits, and most often, currently, our goals – particular existence based pursuits. As such it is extremely influential with regard to our patterns of thought and action. A reality we need to be conscious of as we seek to create a culture that works for all my children in the world… creating a culture in the context of, within the dynamics of, our current more existence based, reason led, culture. Not only conscious of the presence of the existing culture, but the way cultures work to sustain particular processes, and restrain, if not resist, the emergence of the new.
It is the reality of issues, the critical issues facing humankind and life on earth, that creates the need for resolving these issues in reconciling ways – ways that are right and good, ways that bring the love required to advance humanness, nourish life into our processes… a reality and ways that bring life and meaning to the creation of cultures that work for all my children in the world… the called work of now. A reconciling resolution that moves us towards wholeness, away from that which divides.
Life and love enter into the world as process. Process is the initiating act of the emergence of life on this earth. It is process, our developing the capacity to see process, to create processes, that is critical to our creating cultures that work for all my children in the world. Also, critical to creating cultures, in particular to this aim shifting living culture, is the understanding of how truth – as process – works. The essence of the truth of the previous is enfolded into the intended unfolding emerging as a more whole, more complete manifestation of truth. We see this at work when we shift from our current – outside of life – human centeredness; to a “woven within the web of life” embracing of the whole of the truth of our living human spiritual beingness. A pattern also present within love… the love made visible through the teachings of Christ… seeing the progression of increasing wholeness, and completeness as we reflect upon: Love God; Love thy neighbor; Love one another as I have loved you – all-inclusively; Love thy enemy.
Maintaining our aim to have our ways of living and working reflect – be mirror images of – the intended ways of working of life and love on this earth, we look to culture as being a particular living system… not a collection of, but rather a systemic working of virtue and values. Within the systems of life, we see a shared purpose – a purpose for the whole, the whole within which the system works… a particular purpose for the system and within the system, each element having particular work and role. Imaging the systemic working within the whole of ourselves, or an estuary, may bring energy and insight to enable seeing this at work. Within the culture system we can see an organized work and role with regard to our being grounded in authenticity, and see another work and role directionally organized by the intended ways of working of life and love… see the active organizing presence of an aim of becoming intentional, and see soul building, community soul building, and spirit manifesting work as having a fruitful presence within our pursuits. Elements of – their work and role within – the system we would create to sustain and enable the potential realizing capacity of the process… the virtue sourced value adding processes that are at the core, the heart, of cultures that work for all my children in the world. Systemic cultures that reflect the uniqueness of the life energy field, and the free will conscious conscientious choices of the community… that which emerges from two or more intentional dialoguing. Thus, not predetermined, dogmatic in character, but rather ongoingly developing mastery of – ableness to harmonize with – intended ways; and being increasingly authentic – fully and truly human – and becoming more and more real in our becoming an intentional people of earth.
Free will conscious conscientious choice… is, in a very real way, the most critical capacity for an authentic yes to the work of now… to our being and becoming authentic and intentional. This too is a process… a process of developing our capacity for, and the exercising of, free will conscious conscientious choice. An ableness essential to right and good – ethical choices and ethically working ways. It is that which allows us as community – community being the smallest whole at this time – to detach from the instinctive pulls, ego demands, of our existence based culture and join in the creation work of now… to willfully join in the unfolding creation… the upward enfolding, unfolding, evolving, eternalizing of life on and through this earth. Willfully – coming from above – drawing the intentionality behind the whole of all into and through our beingness… the beingness organized by the compassion of equality. Willfully, an essence based process of becoming, as opposed to motivationally, an existence based process of pursuing and achieving goals.
With regard to free will conscious conscientious choice, science has particular work and role… that is: developing the understanding critical to our consciousness, to our being conscious with regard to particular aspects of an issue. We see this at work within the COVID-19 issue. Here we looked to science to describe the way of working, in particular the ways of spreading the infection, so that we could make right and good choices, ethical choices with regard to safeguarding our health and the health of others… an understanding that, when integrated into the understanding of the work we are seeking to undertake, allows us to develop ethical and effective forward paths. Looking not to science to tell us what to do, but rather to provide the understanding we need to make right and good choices.
Also, present within the COVID-19 experience, a gift, is the making visible – experientially real and intuitively obvious – the truth of our oneness, our shared humanness. And within that realization, seeing of the truth that ideologies, no matter their source, nor their field of endeavor (e.g., politics, science, religion, business, etc.), lack the wholeness and completeness necessary to bring reconciling resolution to the issue… to ethical, right and good paths and results. Understanding that while ideologies may be energizing, polarizing, and divisive; they lack the virtue of wholeness required for willful, real hope responses to issues facing the whole of humankind, and the whole of life on this earth.
COVID-19 wakes us up to our humanness, our shared humanness; global warming wakes us up to our livingness, our being woven within, rather than outside of, life. Present within the COVID-19 crisis, our sheltering in place, the inability to come together, is the experiencing – a reconnecting of ourselves – to more meaningful, more thoughtful, more real ways of life… a deeper appreciation of the beauty that unfolds before us within the cycles of life… a taste of love in the process. And through the cries of the children, cries reminding us of our significance within life, and the necessity for sustaining the vitality and viability of earth’s life processes to our wellbeing, global warming awakens us to the truths of our being inseparably, intentionally woven within the life processes of earth. An awakening to truths, to experiences that we could hold in our hearts as we seek the understanding to exercise free will conscious conscientious choice… and to do so in ways that open our hearts and minds to being organized from above… from the intent, the will force behind the whole of all…. always remembering that:
– If love is not present in the process, love will not be present in the outcomes.
– And, in our being attached to material, we develop a passion against nature… against the intended world. And ultimately, against ourselves… against the truth of our living human spiritual beingness… taking us off the path of intent; away from our essential why.
– Never forgetting that we do have choice… we can, as a human community, as a people of earth, choose the right and good… say yes to our called work. Everything is in place… inherently, intentionally present and, with right orientation – a bit of work on our part -, accessible, developable, and manifestable. No need to reinvent ourselves, but rather the need to develop serious intent, the willfulness the work of now calls for. All of which requires we have faith in intent… with faith – putting our faith in intent – we can be and become life nourishing instruments, vessels for love entering the process… and with love entering through us, into our processes and into the working of the world; we can have hope… real hope for each and all.
